Starting with the first quarter of this year, Kobi Dar has taken over the position of President of the United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB) beer producer, a position occupied in the past three years by Shachar Shaine.
The new President of the company has nearly 20 years of experience in the beverage industry, over 10 years of which in top management positions. Kobi Dar has also worked in Romania within the URBB, between 2005 and 2009, and has served as Vice President of Supply Chain during this period.
Kobi Dar graduated the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel in 1996, and attended an Executive MBA at the University of Tel Aviv between 2003 and 2005. During the nearly 20 years of his career, Kobi Dar has held top management positions in several departments, from logistics, to operations and strategy, with extensive experience in the beverage industry.
The URBB brewery has a production capacity of more than 2.4 million hectoliters and currently employs more than 775 people.
URBB owns brands such as Tuborg, Skol, Carlsberg or Guinness. According to the latest financial data available, the company reported a turnover of 392 million lei in 2017, up by 5% over the previous year. At profitability level, however, the producer reported losses of 2.79 million lei, given that in 2016 the profit was 8.89 million lei.
