German retailer dm drogerie markt inaugurated its 100th store on Thursday, December 13, in Ploiesti, Romania. Present in most of the cities with over 40,000 citizens in the country, dm drogerie markt has invested in expansion in the past three months, opening new locations in cities like Slatina, Bucharest, Arad, Oradea, Bacau, Baia Mare, Satu Mare.
"100 drugstores in Romania, of which over 30% in street-viewing locations, are a fulfillment of the mission to be as close as possible to customers. Only in the last three months we have opened 11 stores - a record so far. Our intention is to open stores with a larger surface so we can even offer the specific dm atmosphere that our customers are also familiar with in stores outside the country. In addition to this performance, the inauguration of the distribution center was completed in less than 6 months from the first brick, more precisely in October this year. The investment value of the project is about 13 million euros", said Cristian Crisan, administrator of dm drogerie markt Romania.
dm drogerie markt was established in 1973 in Germany and currently operates in 13 countries: Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary, with approximately 3,600 shops and 62,000 of employees in Europe.
In Romania, the retailer has been on the market for 11 years and has reached a business of 306 million lei last year, up by 20% over the previous year.
